Loukas Petridis, Chairman of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Delegation to Sri Lanka, addressed the gathering on April 25, 2022. Peiris bid farewell to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

External Affairs Minister Prof. Peiris lauded the contribution made by the ICRC in Sri Lanka. Responding to Minister Peiris' explanation of the current economic challenges, ICRC President Petridis said the Sri Lanka Red Cross would donate medical supplies to Sri Lanka and was ready to provide humanitarian assistance on a need-to-know basis.
